Goal Savings Calculator: Trip or Wedding

Short answer. The amount still to save is the target minus what you have saved, divided by the months left. Example: a ₹75,000 target with ₹20,000 saved and 4 months left needs ₹13,750 a month. In Kubear you set a goal with a target, a date and the amount saved, and see what is still to go.

How it is worked out

When people use this

This calculator takes a goal amount for a trip, wedding, festival or course, the amount already saved and a target month, and shows the equal monthly amount needed to reach it.

It is simple division. It does not choose a goal or a date for you.

The calculation is plain, repeatable arithmetic on the numbers you type. It runs in your browser, so the figures you enter are not sent to a server by this tool. Results are illustrations, not financial, tax or investment advice.

What you enter

  • Goal category & target amount
  • Current amount saved
  • Target completion month

How it works

The amount still needed is the goal minus what you have saved. The number of months is counted from the current month to your target month. The monthly amount is the amount still needed divided by the months left, rounded up to a whole rupee.

If the goal is already met, the tool says so. If the target month has passed and money is still needed, it marks the goal as overdue instead of dividing by zero.

Moving the target month later or changing the goal changes the figure, and the tool shows the new arithmetic each time. Saved money in an interest-bearing account would reduce the amount slightly, and that is not included.

Assumptions

  • Savings are equal each month and earn no interest.
  • The month count depends on today's date.
  • Prices are assumed not to change before the target month.
  • Other goals and bills are not considered.

Worked example

₹80,000 trip fund

Inputs

  • Goal amount: ₹80,000
  • Already saved: ₹20,000
  • Target month: April 2027 (counted from October 2026)

Result

  • Still to save: ₹60,000
  • Months left: 6
  • Even monthly saving needed: ₹10,000

This is an illustration with the example inputs shown, not a prediction or advice. Change the inputs on the calculator to see your own figures. The month count depends on today's date.

Questions

About this calculator.

01How is the monthly amount calculated?

The calculator subtracts what you have saved from the goal and divides the rest by the number of months until your target month. It assumes equal monthly savings and no interest.

02Does it work for weddings or gadgets too?

Yes. Any one-time goal with an amount and a date works the same way: a trip, a wedding, a festival purchase or a course fee.

03What if the target month has passed?

If the target month is this month or earlier and money is still needed, the calculator marks the goal as overdue instead of dividing by zero.
